Taraneh Javanbakht was born in Tehran, Iran, in May 1974. She received her B.S. degree in chemistry in Tehran in June 1996 and moved to Paris in 1997 in order to complete her studies. She receieved her M.S.c and doctorate at Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. She published two books of poetry in Iran. She now resides in Montreal, Canada. Her work has been published in various literary journals and magazines in Iran. They contain lyric and modern poems.
